Oh, hi Covid.

Covid, a good bug squash, and a new referral.

Oh, hi Covid.
Current status.

Well, this week is going to be a loss. I started Monday feeling a little sniffly and with a big to-do list. Monday afternoon I was coughing, and Monday night I spiked a beast of a fever. Yep, Covid. I'm 100% vaxxed, but it got me anyway. I'm not quite sure how it got to be Thursday night already, but here we are.

So what was already a month long queue and a couple jobs threatening to end up a bit delayed is now still a month long queue with everything likely to end up pushed back a week, and that's assuming my energy comes back soon. I'm done with the fever and coughing, but half a day sitting at my desk has me feeling exhausted. Lame. I'm glad to report that although I'm not all that motivated for food at the moment, my sense of taste seems to be at least mostly intact.

🐞 On top of all the Covid fun, a client using Ghost SSO in white-label mode unearthed a bug and emailed me in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. (Yeah, I was running a 102F fever at that point.) I got the first of two problems fixed at 7am on Tuesday, but didn't get the second one resolved until today – I decided I was just too muzzy-headed to be able to suss it out. Turns out LinkedIn had switched out API versions such that his white labeled site needed different scopes that my main site did, but for some reason it worked for a couple weeks and then stopped working. And of course the documentation stunk - there are three API versions out there, and most of what I could find wasn't really clear on which was which. I got it fixed eventually, and then I took a nap, because sitting in my desk chair is hard? Dang it, Covid.

I need to sit down and bang out some more code tomorrow. I'm apparently better enough for blogging (not as hard as coding), and it needs to happen.

😃 In better news, I got another Ghost referral! That's two! If I can get about another oh... 98 referrals or so... I'll be all set for income. Sadly, I do a lot of work helping current Ghost Pro users, but I don't interact as often with people before they've already signed up for Ghost and realized they want help, so I'm just not getting a whole lot of payout there. I mean, that's not why I hang out on the forum anyway, but it'd sure be nice if there were a way to claim an affiliate payment when I retained someone for Ghost. Yeah, I know, affiliate programs don't work that way.

[The truth: I hang out on the forum because I like being a charmingly-opinionated know-it-all. And/or I'm procrastinating on coding something hard, or my site deploy is uploading, or I'm taking a break or avoiding the dishes or....]

12 weeks to go.
