And in the blink of an eye...

Time passes.

Passage of time represented by an hourglass, clock, and calendar.

Monday. I did our taxes yesterday. Great year for income, so terrible year for taxes. You win some/you lose some, I guess. At least I didn't need to file for an extension this year. (Which is good, because there's already going to be interest on what we owe.) And then I cut a check for estimated payments for the first two quarters of 2024. Not that I have any clue what we're going to make this year, but at least we shouldn't owe as much.

Bucket Hat Ghost is now deposited for Purdue. I hope he'll love it.

Small Ghost's application for 7th grade is in. They were supposed to get back to me (just responding to my "can you tell us what the decision timeline is?" question) a week ago, but it's been crickets. My mom network says that former classmate of Small Ghost got their application decision (a 'yes') in mid summer. Wow. Not sure that's going to work for us, but meanwhile, the other place we were thinking about is apparently also in the middle of a staffing reshuffle. Argh.

This is the last full week of teaching for me. I have a partial week of teaching next week, then final exams. So about three weeks in total. (Plus some time to clear out my office.) Bittersweet. It seems like the semester just barely started, but maybe that's because I haven't really gotten to take a breath all semester.)

And on that note, time to go write some more code... I am soooo ready to get up in the morning with a whole work day for code, instead of trying to sneak it into the corners of an already full life.
