Could we use Ghost as a CRM?

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management. The big idea is that you track leads and customers and do a good job of messaging them in ways that build relationships and/or close deals.

I probably need a CRM. I'm not currently using one, and sometimes, it shows. (If you ever think I've ghosted you, it's likely that your email got buried and I forgot until I was embarrassed about it. Sorry, and I'm working on being better.)

Ghost is not a CRM. But maybe we can fit some of the features in?

• contact form -> make new Ghost account/tag existing?
• donations -> new Ghost account/tag existing
• Wanted feature: "Thanks for your business! Please sign up for my newsletter!" - with a button that doesn't require them to do the magic link dance.
• Frequently requested: Email drip for new subscribers.

All of these are possible with a little custom code. Some slow week (hahahah) I should think about setting them up.

Things Ghost already has that are CRM-like:

Labels - not member-viewable, but can be used to decide who to email, as long as they're marked as subscribed to a newsletter. [There's no mechanism to email everyone with a label without them having a subscription, which makes this less useful as a newsletter replacement.]

Notes - a freeform field that could potentially be used to store some CRM-ish data. Also not member-viewable.

Newsletters - an unlimited number for self-hosters, 3 for Ghost Pro's Creator Plan (more for higher plans).
